This or That or the Other...

This post is like the Diet Coke of Don's Likes and Dislikes

• Denzel Washington or Will Smith or Morgan Freeman
• McDonald’s or White Castle or Wendy’s
• John Stewart or Steven Colbert or Bill Maher
• Tombstone or Digiorno’s or Stouffer’s
• Gain or Tide or Cheer
• Kindle or Ipad or Books
• The Today Show or Good Morning America or The Early Show
• Verizon or T-Mobile or AT&T
• Corn Flakes or Frosted Flakes or Raisin Bran
• CNN or MSNBC or Fox News
• Mary J. Blige or Aretha Franklin or Mariah Carey
• Sean Connery or Pierce Brosnan or Daniel Craig (James Bonds)
• Bad Boy or The Dungeon Family or Ruff Ryders
• Plane or Train or Automobile
• Lizz Wright or Cassandra Wilson or Dianne Reeves

  1. -Freeman
-None-Store brand. But I would choose Tide if it were cheaper.
-Books (only cuz I don't have a Kindle)
-I'm always at work so i dont get to watch a morning show.
    -Frosted Flakes (I add bananas)
    -MJB all day
    -No brainer. Dungeon Family

  2. Denzel Washington (most versatile. prefer Chiwetel E, but he wasn't listed))

    Bill Maher (mad witty cat)

Stouffer’s (I hooks it uuuuup, tho)

Books (Hope they NEVER become extinct!)

The Today Show (depends upon guests)

AT&T (not a huge fan of any... but)

    Frosted Flakes

Aretha Franklin (gotta go w/ the original queen)

    James Bond (same here, sorta)

    Ruff Ryders

    * Interesting list, Brotha Pen.
A couple of these were about picking the ones I'm least indifferent to.

  3. Agree with Moanerplicity about being indifferent to some of these options.

    * I guess Will Smith. Denzel is not a good actor. Yeah I said it. Freeman is pervert. Sleeping with his step-granddaughter.
    * McDonald's. Those fries win it every time.
    * John Stewart
    * Books
    * The Today Show
    * AT&T sucks.
    * Frosted Flakes. They're grrrreat!
    * Aretha
    * Sean Connery is the original but Daniel Craig sure is hot. Tough choice.
    * The Dungeon Family

  4. - Will Smith
    - White Castle!!!!
    - John
    - I only eat pizza at neighborhood pizzerias in NY
    - Tide
    - Books!
    - GMA because I love Robin Roberts
    - none of the above
    - Raisin Bran
    - none of the above
    - old school Mary J.
    - Not a bond fan
    - 90's Bad Boy
    - Train!!!!!
    - Dianne Reeves

  5. Denzel
    Bill Maher
    Frosted Flakes
    Sean Connery
    Ruff Ryders
    Dianne Reeves

  6. Creatively done, bro. Good stuff.

    Bill Maher

    Tombstone (I'm a Papa John's fanatic though)

    Books (all day, every day)

    Raisin Bran

CNN (I admit that I watched FOX to witness the brainwashing)

    Mary J. Blige

  7. @Val: You & your White Castle. Lol. Love it.

  8. @K
Has Morgan Freeman ever been young? He was even old on The Electric Company...LOL!

  9. @MP
Chiwetel can definitely be included in the best black actor dicussion, Don Cheadle also.

Actually I'm indifferent to some of these as well. I just thought I needed to post something, Lol!

  10. @Nicoley Cole
Denzel is not a good actor? I rebuke you *dousing you with holy water* LMAO!

McDonald's fries are classic but I think Five Guys' fries got them beat.

  11. @Val
I adore White Castle but they don't have them in the DC area.

    I love Raisin Bran too!

NY has the best pizza. I said it!

  12. @Miz
Aretha is the blueprint for all the current soul divas wether know it or not.

Maher annoys me at times but I think I prefer him more than Colbert and Stewart.

  13. @Don
When I was eating meat, I liked Wendy's better than the others.

I see that Books are the unanimous victor

Mary J. was my first celebrity crush! I think she looks better now than she did back in the days.

Papa John's is a bag full of awesome!

I prefer the train, if it can get me to where I am going. Planes will get me to my destination quicker. I'm a tall dude and sometimes the lack of seating room is hell on my knees

  14. Your wife served 9 years in the Air Force now she is a true American the rest us just came out of american p ssy lls

    John Stewart
    GM America
    Frosted Flakes
    Fox News
    Aretha Franklin
    Sean Connery
    Ruff Ryders
    neither I prefer walking actually
    Dianne Reeves

    Great Post!

  15. @Champ
    Champ What Up!

    Thanks for stopping through bruh!

Sean Connery is the genuine article, I appreciate the other Bonds but Connery is the one!

I grew up in New York and The Ruff Ryders had the city on smash. The Lox has so many Tunnel bangers it was ridiculous, DMX, Drag-On, even early Eve. The Bad Boy movement was legendary as well, but it didn't have the same affect on me that RR did.

Walking! Now that's God's gift and it is free if you're capable!

  16. Here goes it!

    • Denzel Washington
    • McDonald’s
    • John Stewart
    • Stouffer’s
    • Gain
    • Books
    • The Today Show
    • Verizon
    • Does Honey Bunches of Oats with pecans count? LOL
    • MSNBC
    • Mary J. Blige
    • Sean Connery BUT, Daniel Craig is a very close second.
    • The Dungeon Family fasho!
    • Plane (stateside) and Train (Europe)
    • No doubt Cassandra Wilson!

  17. I know, I know. I really don't think Denzel is a good actor. He's good at acting but he's not a good actor. I believe the emotions he conveys but not that he is a different person other than himself.

To me, a good actor is not only someone who acts well but someone who when you watch them, you forget who they are and believe you are watching the character they are portraying.

He never transforms into someone else. He generally talks the same, moves the same, looks the same, has the same cadence in his voice. He is always him.

Jamie Foxx transformed himself into Ray Charles for Ray. Denzel Washington is always Denzel Washington. He can be a sensitive father in one movie or a corrupt cop in another and he has a diverse resume, yes, but he is always Denzel Washington.

  18. Will Smith - if for no other reason the physique!
    • Wendy’s - if I must...
    • Digiorno’s - oooh that rising crust!
    • Gain or Tide or Cheer...Arm & Hammer
    • Kindle or Ipad or Books...Nook AND books. Even though I was gifted with my Nook for the bday, still gotta have me a hardcover every now and then :-)
    • Verizon or T-Mobile or AT&T...Sprint
    • Corn Flakes or Frosted Flakes or Raisin Bran...Cap'N Crunch!!!
    • Fox News
    • Mary J. Blige
    • Don't do the James Bond movies...
    • Plane so I can get my drink and relax on!

  19. @Jet
I'm on the Gain and Verizon train too!

    I love Cassandra Wilson's voice

  20. @Nicoley Cole

"He never transforms into someone else."

    Have you seen Malcolm X?

Lol! I hear you. I think Denzel's an amazing actor just based on his body of work.

I would describe Pacino the way you described Denzel though.

  21. @Nicoley Cole

  22. @Traci
Sprint was my very first cell phone provider.

    Cap N' Crunch is yummy!

I like the kindle and nook concept and I understand why people with a lot of books would want one, but I feel like if I get one I am betraying books or something. I know it's silly, Lol!

  23. Hmmmmm.....

    Any will do
I need to make a switch from MetroPCS
    Corn Flakes
    Mary J
    Pierce Brosnan
    Dianne Reeves

  24. Oh, this is a fun one...

-Denzel (did someone write that Denzel can't act? wow!)
    -Bill Maher
-Whichever is on sale! I can't stand the high price of laundry detergent.
    -Books, without a doubt!
-TMobile (until they are bought out in 2011)
    -Raisin Bran (with vanilla soy)
-Sean (although, rumor has it he's a misogynist)

  26. @Felicia
Yep! Someone did say Denzel couldn't act. Lol.

Laundry Detergent is expensive but some of that stuff suds up and doesn't properly clean your clothes, like Trend.

I like Raisin Brain but I eat with almond milk.

  27. @Anna
I thought Pierce Brosnan was a good bond much better than that Dalton cat!

I love Dianne Reeves, especially her song Company.

  28. @Jsin
Thanks for stopping by J! I'll consider it.
